I was born on the 2nd of February 1955 into a peasant family in the Ping’an Village Production Brigade of the Heya People’s Commune, Northeast Gaomi Township, Shandong Province, the People’s Republic of China. Mo Yan (chinesisch 莫言, Pinyin Mò Yán; * 17. Februar 1955 in Gaomi, Provinz Shandong, eigentlich 管谟业, Guǎn Móyè) ist ein chinesischer Schriftsteller. 2012 wurde ihm als erstem chinesischen Staatsbürger der Nobelpreis für Literatur zuerkannt. Mo Yan betyder ”Tala inte” och är en psedonym. Egentligen heter författaren Guan Moye och föddes 1955 i en fattig familj i provinsen Shandong i östra Kina.
